How did you connect with his story internally, to make him your own? For me the story was always about how people can pervert religion for their own gain in a negative sense, and from her side, how religion can be used as salvation. He was a narcissist and he thought he was a rock star. It was in the way he walked, the way he moved. Tapping into that helped. And part of that is the way I work. As much as you try and stick to it, it was so uncomfortable. There were crew members walking off set in tears. This is not right. We stayed in that tent, which was on a soundstage, for probably an hour [to calm down]. For me, it was more about being embarrassed to meet eyes with people after.

Billy Loomis is first. This led to Billy growing a severe hatred towards Maureen and Sidney, which eventually led to Billy and Stu Macher brutally killing Maureen. Billy seems to have issues concerning finding that fine line between fiction and reality. He compares a lot of things to horror films. Billy seems to also suffer from delusions, as shown in the last scenes of the movie.
And now onto Stu Macher. Oh Lord, Stu is a piece of work. Stu is eccentric, out of the box, and all around a guy who wants to have fun. Like Billy, Stu loves horror films.
At the end of the day, he made Ghostface all the more terrifying. However, as the film unfolds, we discover the darkness that lurks beneath his charming facade. Billy comes across as a troubled character with a complicated past. As the film progresses, his true nature emerges revealing a cold-blooded killer with a twisted sense of justice. This evolution is marked by a series of events that gradually push him over the edge. That singular occurrence sets in motion a chain of events that ultimately leads to his murderous rampage.
Scream 3 is the weakest of the series but did feature a creepy dream in which a traumatized Sidney is visited by the ghost of her mother. Scream 5 may take a similar approach, with Billy either haunting her dreams or being hallucinated by Sidney to demonstrate her struggling mental state. This could easily be accomplished through digital de-aging technology, allowing Ulrich to perform the role himself, and would underscore his influence over the entire series. Confronting the memory of Billy could finally destroy his evil legacy.
Of course, the plot of Scream 5 remains a mystery, with multiple scripts and alternate scenes filmed for secrecy.
