Он торопится жить, старается найти что-то новое даже в рамках своего вольера. Легко загорается новыми идеями.. Рецепт приготовления компьютерных мультфильмов от DreamWorks Animation довольно прост: приглашаем как можно большее количество голливудских звезд первой величины; делаем шутки как для детей, так и для взрослой аудитории; плюс пародируем многочисленные фильмы. Мульт не может похвастаться особо интересным сюжетом , но зато, как это не парадоксально звучит, именно идея давала кучу возможностей для полета фантазии у создателей фильма. Первая половина мульта интересна и содержательна, сюжет развивается стремительно и не дает зрителям заскучать ни на секунду. Исполнив заветную мечту главного героя уже в первой трети мульта, создатели явно не знали, в каком направлении дальше вести сюжет.
Мне лично такой поворот не очень понравился. С каждым новым мультом DreamWorks создает всё больше и больше главных персонажей в одном проекте. Но вот как-то уж так повелось, что у DreamWorks наиболее яркими получаются второстепенные персонажи. И данный мульт не стал исключением. Мне как-то было безразлично, что он там говорит, потому что я лежал со смеху лишь от интонации, дикции и манеры речи. В принципе, получился такой детский рисованный компьютерный вариант Али Джи. Мне ужасно понравилось. На втором месте в моем личном рейтинге персонажей «Мадагаскара» без всяких сомнений оказалась четверка немного а может и не немного сдвинутых наголову пингвинов. Квартет зажег отчаянно.
Ну а что же главные персонажи? Добавить к этому особо нечего. Жираф в исполнении Дэвида Швиммера, почему-то весь фильм напоминал мне то ли пародию на, то ли нереально гротескную версию Росса Гэллера. Бен Стиллер и Джада Пинкетт-Смит как-то особенно ничем не запомнились. Своих персонажей лев и бегемотиха соответственно они озвучили хорошо, но не более. Я ни в коем случае не хочу сказать, что это плохо. Мульты первоначально, прежде всего, рассчитаны на детскую аудитории. Просто, после «Шреков» такой факт воспринимается несколько неожиданно. Но если судить по реакции детей в зале, то им мульт очень даже понравился.
Не обошлось здесь, конечно, и без пародий на другие фильмы. Немало позабавила кулинарная версия «Красоты по-американски», был замечен «Изгой», но я больше всего смеялся от пародии над «Планетой обезьян».
