He knows how to get the most out of his game and he has never needed burning speed or a lethal shot to do it. The biggest gains in the rankins belong to Nick Suzuki and Erik Brannstrom, both jumping up nine spots with Kailer Yamamoto up four. The biggest fallers are Klim Kostin and Isaac Ratcliffe who dropped nine spots each, while Eric Rasmussen dropped six. He is a dynamic offensive player, but an underrated defensive player as well. Arguably the mos dynamic offensive player in the draft.

This season we will see whether or not Vilardi can fully recover from the injuries that have plagued his career thus far. He plays a simple but highly effective game, using his slick hands to carry the puck into vantage points where he can beat the goalie himself with or find a teammate with ease. He is a safe bet to be a second-line center, having produced well but not extraordinarily at all levels. He is lethal in the offensive zone, hard to get off the puck and is an elite passer. Similar to Patrick and Vilardi, Glass is another big, talented Canadian centreman whose future is hard to project given his injury history.
However, he has shown improvement at the pro level and he is too talented not to make the NHL. When the opposition inevitably closes in on him, he can also make space for himself with his creativity. He is a fluid skater, so he generates a lot of offense on the rush and he is effective on the powerplay. Despite having the fourth-most games played out of this class, the upside of the players above him is higher.
Rather than trying to rush the puck every time, he identifies when he can burn the defender and when to make a play. He is also getting better at producing from a standstill and could play on the powerplay in the NHL. He is an elite skater who is incredibly poised with the puck on his stick. The analytics rate him highly due to his efficiency at carrying the puck, but he will need to start using his standout puck skills to create offense to justify this ranking.
This season he has thrived in an increased role. Marie Greyhounds, but he still projects as a top-six offensive talent in the NHL. He then exploded the next year and was one of the best players in the league and for Team Canada as they won gold at the World Juniors. His size and skill have turned him into a menace at the AHL level.
His average footspeed is the only thing holding him back. His offense has slowed down a bit after turning pro in his draft-year-plus-one season but has been playing tough matchups and killing penalties.
A sniper, Comtois has a very quick release that can handcuff opposing goaltenders. He also has excellent vision and passing skills. Comtois can extend plays by using his stick handling and puck protection to control the play along the boards. Once teammates get open he can make a pass through the tightest of openings.
Comtois has good size and is not afraid to work along the boards or in front of the net. Comtois is also a very good skater, with great first step quickness and excellent acceleration. As a 16-year-old rookie, he took on heavy responsibility, playing in all situations. He also scored 60 points in 62 games this past season. Tippett is extremely dangerous off the rush. He has excellent speed and acceleration.
His ability to change speeds allows him to take defenders wide and drive to the front of the net, where he has the soft hands to finish in tight. If defenders back off to respect his speed, he can use his excellent wrist shot or snap shot and beat goalies with a quick release. Tippett could stand to work on his play making skills. He can stand to slow things down and hold on to the puck just a little longer before rushing a play. Tippett had 15 goals and 20 points for Mississauga last season. A strong performance, seven points in four games, would lead to him being invited to join the US NTDP late in the season.
He scored a point per game. He had another impressive tournament, with nine points in seven games. He is committed to the University of Minnesota in 2017. Mittelstadt has excellent puck handling ability. He can beat defencemen one-on-one with a number of moves, and has the soft hands to stick handle in a phone both. He combines this with excellent speed, and the ability to make cuts on a dime.
Mittlestadt is an excellent play maker who creates passing lanes with his quick puck movement. He also has a good shot. He put up nine goals and 10 points in just five games for Finland. Tolvanen is a pure sniper who scores goals in a variety of different ways. He reads the play extremely well, and uses a quick first step and excellent accleration to allude defenders and get himself open to fire a shot on goal. Tolvanen has an outstanding one-timer, with great power and accuracy.
He also has a lightning quick release on his wrist shot.

Да и в «Шикутими» в Лиге Квебека за 151 игру — 149 очков. Почему Учалы? Для начала, сам Дмитрий свою статистику в «Шикутими» не считает выдающейся — команды играют в открытый хоккей, только и делай, что очки набивай. В «Авангарде» Жукенов начал за здравие — забросил во втором матче, стал новичком недели, играл в тройке с Семёновым и Петерссоном, удостаивался в прессе звания будущего лидера омичей. Далее Жукенов постепенно терял место в основном составе, играл за «Омских Ястребов», а в прошлом сезоне в октябре был отправлен в Чехию «за практикой» вместе с Антоном Ковалёвым и Ильёй Дервуком.
Пока Жукенов набирался опыта во второй! В итоге Дмитрий заканчивал сезон в Новокузнецке, а летом перешёл в систему «Автомобилиста», но пока центрфорвард прочно обосновался в «Горняке». Жукенову всего 22 года, по большому счёту, вся карьера впереди, но пока с каждым сезоном от «Ванкувера» хоккеист всё дальше и дальше, хотя прошло всего четыре года. По словам президента бело-голубых Михаила Головкова, Коростин плюнул на команду и под покровом ночи покинул расположение «Динамо». Сергей уехал в Прокопьевск, где делал американскую визу, готовился к сезону и даже провёл два матча за «Шахтёр». На счету Коростина ни одного матча в КХЛ.
В топ-3 впихивают шведа Карлссона «Анахайм» и канадца Фантилли «Коламбус». Тоже предсказуемо. В пятерку лучших Матвей тоже не попадает. Становится волнительно. До «Вашингтона», отдающего свой голос восьмым, остается совсем немного… И тут — шок: «Филадельфия» драфтует Мичкова под 7-м номером! Вопреки всем инсайдерам, отправлявшим форварда то в «Сан-Хосе» 4-й драфт-пик , то к «столичным». Про интерес со стороны «Флайерз» вообще разговоров не шло. Тем не менее, «нового Ови» и Ови реального разделили. Вместо красивой истории о передаче русской эстафеты — клуб с великим прошлым и тяжелым настоящим три года без плей-офф.
Но «Филадельфия» готова ждать. Позиция ждуна больше всего и поражает. Год назад «Флайерз» так и не увидели в своих воротах Ивана Федотова, которого отгородили от НХЛ с помощью срочной службы в армии. Американцы заморозили контракт и рассчитывают на кипера в будущем сезоне, но он может и с ЦСКА контракт продлить после дембеля. А теперь в их планах очередной режим ожидания. Только теперь мечтать будут о Матвее.

An NHL career is made every single day of a young players life, and the path is never the same for any pair of picks. Many of these players will take well over a season to gain the skills necessary to even come close to an NHL spot, and the level of skill development necessary can be enormous.
