His average footspeed is the only thing holding him back.
His offense has slowed down a bit after turning pro in his draft-year-plus-one season but has been playing tough matchups and killing penalties. He moves around very well for a big man, allowing him to break up plays and then join the ensuing rush. More time in the AHL could be helpful. He has a good, quick wrist shot and passes the puck well enough, but his lack of foot speed holds him back from being a truly dynamic player. Another player in this class who has struggled with injuries, he missed all of 2018-19 due to a concussion.
He played just 40 games in the AHL last year and really blossomed near the end of the season with 11 points in his last 13 games. At six-foot-two, 185-pounds, he could add some weight but has managed without it due to his smooth skating stride and four-way quickness. He already looks like a powerplay anchor-type, but we could very well not have seen the best of Timmins due to the injury problems.
He had a decent rookie season in the NHL, scoring 20 points in 56 games, but struggled to keep up with the increased pace of the league. He is most effective from mid-range, with a lethal wrist shot. He can skate and has good hands, but his small stature may hold him back from being more than a secondary scorer.
He is an all-round rearguard with average offensive ability who carries his six-foot-four, 216-pound frame around very well. He is reliable defensively, able to keep up with quick forwards and break up play with his long reach or lay the body. Should be a useful NHLer.
He is a little undersized but is an above-average skater and a mobile defender. Offensively, he is efficient, letting the play develop in front of him before finding an outlet. He has held his own so far in the NHL this season.

Originally considered a surefire top three pick early in the season, he could go anywhere from 5-20 in the draft. Skating wise, he has great power in his stride and beats many junior-level players with ease.
Offensively, he mostly stays away from the big load ups from the point, more often than not opting for an efficient approach focused on getting shots through to the net. He tore apart the U18s with six goals and 13 points in seven games and chipped in a couple of points at the World Juniors as a 17-year-old. Scouts describe a great deal of inconsistency to his game. He piled up 30 goals in just 52 games in the USHL thanks to an elite shot and a complete shooting arsenal that enables him to beat goaltenders from just about anywhere in the offensive zone.
He finishes plays more than he makes them. He has some difficulty dealing with heavy forechecks, but he thinks his way around problems. Cloud team.
I would argue Texier has the higher ceiling while Bemstrom has the lower floor. Given the way I normally evaluate players, Texier should probably be ahead of Bemstrom for that reason. I do think Bemstrom has shown more consistency at the pro level, though, so that gave him a very slight edge. Texier is definitely a better passer, skater and carrier so it will be interesting to see if he can put it all together in the next couple of years or if he settles as a fine middle-six forward rather than an impact one.
I really liked him in 2017 and I really like him now. But my concern with projecting him going forward is also the same now as it was then. By having him so high, there was a ripple effect on the rest of my board near the top. Yes, I do. Was he rushed through college and into the pro level too quickly? Yes, he was. Yes, there were.
I was impressed by his hands in traffic and his ability to turn nothing into something. And I was prepared to overlook concerns of tempo and athleticism. This is one of my bigger misses ever. He may struggle to reach his ceiling on an Avalanche team that already has Makar and Samuel Girard as offensive options on the blue line, with Bowen Byram on the way, but I still think he has the other tools he needs to be a regular contributor on a contending team. I was a big fan in his draft year, even as he battled mono and things got away from him a little. And while his defensive game and decision making once his biggest weaknesses have become strengths since then, I have grown increasingly concerned with his skating. Vilardi is constantly moving and getting involved in the play. He is extremely gritty and involved in battles along the boards, and in front of the net.
The power forward prospect also has a very good wrist shot. With Windsor hosting the 2017 Memorial Cup , there will be plenty of opportunities to show off his skills to the scouts. He put up 17 goals and 38 points in 62 games last year. He has an excellent array of shots, with good power and accuracy on his wrist shot, snap shot and slap shot.
A sniper, Comtois has a very quick release that can handcuff opposing goaltenders. He also has excellent vision and passing skills. Comtois has good size and is not afraid to work along the boards or in front of the net. Comtois is also a very good skater, with great first step quickness and excellent acceleration. Tippett is extremely dangerous off the rush. He has excellent speed and acceleration.
