Не долго они держаться особняком, потому что ещё через полчаса, они оккупируют детскую площадку, и пытаются поместиться в горку, которая явно не предназначена для их роста — только Кенме получается нормально с неё съехать, и всё оставшееся время он напоминает всем им об этом с гаденькой ухмылочкой на губах — и Куроо не знает, огорчаться ему на это или удивляться с того, какой у него всё же мерзко-прекрасный парень; Ойкава кидает шутку про то, что его не котом звать нужно, а крысой, после чего бегает по всей площадке от Тетсуро. Они распугивают напрочь всех детей, и сами с себя после этого ржут. Ойкава искусственно надувает губы, жалуется в шутку, что он «вообще-то тут самый прекрасный и самый красивый, и вообще вы и пальца моего не стоите». Despite this, he lacks technical skill and is new to being a setter, often setting at too high an angle or even accidentally setting the ball out of bounds.
He has an extremely energetic personality and believes that a player should give everything they have in a game. He later befriends Shoyo Hinata. They often hold training camps with other Kanto schools such as Nekoma, Ubugawa, and Shinzen; this group is called the Fukurodani Academy Group.
