Однако основную угрозу в Stalker Online представляют игроки, которые, — будьте уверены, — всеми силами будут пытаться отнять у вас все пожитки. Дело в том, что в SO почти каждый предмет из инвентаря персонажа может выпасть при его смерти с определенным шансом. Этот шанс уникален для каждого предмета, но довольно высок. По этой причине игроки часто устраивают засады в зданиях, поджидая зазевавшихся новичков, из-за чего игру нередко приравнивают к жанру «королевской битвы», хотя она таковой и не является.
