The Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro look a lot like one another. Purple color option aside, the design seems largely intended to keep a low profile — a perfectly good goal for a pair of wireless headphones in 2020. Fit and comfort are — of course — even more subjective and highly variable than even something like sound quality.
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 also supports spatial audio with head tracking. If you pair it with other Android 13 phones, you can only use spatial audio without head tracking and only in specific apps like YouTube and Google TV with surround sound content. It can be quite boomy and overwhelming at times, not to mention borderline fatiguing at higher volumes. The mid-range seems deliberately suppressed, which makes the vocals sound fuzzy and muted in the mix. The lower mids in particular are lackluster but the upper mids can be a bit bright and nasal. The timbre is lacking as voices and instruments have a distinct metallic twang to them. This is brought forth further by the high-end. The dedicated driver adds a lot of shimmer and sizzle to the sound, which sometimes sounds disjointed from the rest of the soundscape. It can sound quite aggressive at times and is especially strong at higher volumes. The sound does change notably with ANC disabled. The mid-bass sounds a bit leaner and the upper mids sound more prominent, lending to an overall brighter, more open sound. I preferred to turn the ANC off as the earbuds often sounded a lot better that way. The overall default tonality of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is fine for certain genres of music but the aggressive bass and treble can be overbearing at times and the sunken mid-range leaves the sound feeling hollow and claustrophobic. The sound is also very congested in general, and despite the claims of lossless audio sounds distinctly compressed. The most shocking revelation during this review was that the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 actually sounds notably worse than the original Buds Pro. While I was not quite pleased with the overly bassy sound of the Buds Pro when I reviewed it, the Buds Pro 2 pushes the bass even further while also heightening the highs and crushing the mids. Going back and forth between the Buds Pro and Buds Pro 2, the Buds Pro were notably more balanced and cleaner sounding of the two, with a much more fleshed-out mid-range and less piercing treble. They also sounded more open and natural compared to the Buds Pro 2, with a less metallic timbre to the vocals. Doing this back-to-back comparison made me appreciate the original model a lot more, which is probably not something you want to see in a review of the new model. But whenever I had to pick one for personal listening I always grabbed the older model.

С этими наушниками забывается глуховатость и грубость композиций, которые иногда проскакивают в конкурентах той же ценовой категории. Приложение настраивает бас, шум и управление Приложение Bose Music не выделяется особенными функциями кроме одной, об этом в конце раздела , но оно качественно сделано и даёт тот набор управления, который ожидаешь от премиального продукта. Здесь легко добавить новую пару наушников, обновить их, переключить сопряжение с ноутбука на смартфон, выбрать и настроить режимы шумоподавления и прозрачности. Есть упрощённая версия эквалайзера, где отдельно настраиваются три группы: верхние, средние и низкие частоты. Кастомизация не профессиональная, но любителям басов или более сбалансированного звука подойдёт. Как и упоминал ранее, тут же на удержание сенсорной панели левого наушника настраивается изменение режима прослушивания или доступ к голосовому ассистенту. Что интересно, в отличие от решений других конкурентов есть встроенный «хаб», к которому подключаются сервисы стриминга и радио. Прямо в приложении можно выбрать Deezer, Spotify, Pandora, iHeart radio и другие, чтобы незамедлительно включить оттуда музыку.
Фирменное звучание без непрошенных сюрпризов Bose не сделали «ошибку короля» и в своей второй версии флагманских беспородных наушников не стали навязывать лишние рекламные «обвесы ради обвесов». В Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 за 34 990 рублей нововведения получились по делу: снова подтянули шумоподавление до мирового уровня и даже слегка лучше, сделали звук чище, добавили простую персональную настройку и сбалансировали тональность при изменении громкости, чтобы добиться яркого звука даже на тихом уровне.
