The collection was inspired by military and post-apocolytic aesthetics with exaggerated and oversized treatments. The collection was notable for debuting a fully-realized version of his athletic-inspired sneaker previously seen in his "Moog FW05" collection. The second part of his presentation, DUSTDAM, was an installation space exhibiting thirty garments from his new collection alongside his in-house furniture. The garments were on a wooden display thirty meters in length. The statue is now installed at his flagship Paris store.
Their dance performance, accented with "grit face" expressions, was done in lieu of a typical runway presentation. Owens also intended for this collection to be more inclusive with body representation. The footwear collaboration was a commercial success and brought Rick Owens further into the mainstream, adding to the success and press of the fashion show itself. Notably, this collection introduced inflatable knee-high rubber boots, distinctive for their large volume and rounded shape.

I took their [sock designs] and altered them, made them longer. The T-shirts are a little bit long. The shoes are little bit too big. It is a kind of plastic made by mixing ethylene and vinyl acetate.
Compared to rubber sandals, EVA is softer hence more comfortable for your feet. Another reason EVA is comfortable is due to its shock-absorbing properties. With these sandals, you can stomp as hard as you can without feeling any impact on your soles. Rick Owens and Dr. Martens In 2021, Dr. Martens teamed up with Rick for a two-part collaboration, March and May. In the two collaborations, they released different-looking sneakers. Their version of the boot contains a dramatic lacing pattern. So, the laces look sloppy, yet the sloppiness is intended.
Rick claimed that he designed the laces in a disorganized way to symbolize the eternal search for rational order. Other features that make their sneakers unique are the addition of leather drapes on the upper shoe and a double welt stitching of taupe and yellow colors. In the next phase of their collaboration, they introduced grey suedes that they called Rick Owens x Dr. Martens SS21.
